Recently my cousin, Lisa and her fiance, sent me a “free meal” for Blue Apron because I was intrigued by the process and have seen the commercials on TV.
Here is what I learned!
Super Convenient Delivery
Not only do they deliver nationwide, but you can choose the schedule that fits you best! After our first free meal we have actually decided to order Blue Apron every 3 weeks. What is even better is that all the ingredients are delivered to your door in a refrigerated box so it stays fresh when you are at work. It is ideal for us busy twenty-somethings who want a fresh, home made, cooked meal!
Fresh Ingredients:
All the special ingredients, you need for each meal are fresh, pre-measured so no waste and each bag, box and container is recycle friendly.
All the meats are also naturally raised on on antibiotic- and hormone-free diets which is even better!
Easy to Cook:
Let’s just say I am a better baker than a cook so, this really makes me look good in a kitchen! Each delivery has 3 meals, with it’s own inventory list and step by step instructions. You can also log onto your Blue Apron account to watch instructional videos if you can’t read!
Literally everything that you would need for each dish, except for oil and cooking utensils, is included with your delivery.
My favorite part is comparing my final product to the pictures with the directions!
It’s Fun
The best part about this is that it is super fun! I actually enjoy cooking after work and making a meal for my man when he comes home. My boyfriend, Mark, and I also enjoy cooking some of the meals together on the weekend! It’s fun to take credit for such delicious food!
Original Recipes Weekly:
They have a culinary team and renowned guest chefs that offer tons of different recipes each week. For us it is fun to discover new recipes each time. Things that we have either never made or eaten before. They really had a large variety of recipes. And best part is each meal is 500-700 per serving so, if you are watching what you are eating it is still a healthy option! Everything we have had so far is super tasty!
What I learned:
The only thing that you do need to keep in mind when you pick your recipes is that you will need specific tools. For instance, I don’t have a cheese grader but I made it work by slicing into tiny cubes. Sometimes you just have to improvise in live!
This really helped me feel more confident in the kitchen and explore my skills!
Blue Apron Conclusion:
All in all I would HIGHLY recommend Blue Apron. It is the perfect “recipe” for a busy twenty-something and even someone who is trying to impress their significant other.
It’s $59.94 for 3 meals, 2 servings each. When you think about it, it’s about the same, if not more to go and purchase everything from the grocery store and it’s not conveniently delivered to your door!
I also recently saw that they added win pairing too! Such a great idea!
Cheers,
Britt
